Account Information: Email address, display name, avatar, and any profile details you choose to publish.

Contributions: Build paths, signals, lessons, fixes, comments, evidence links, and any media you submit.

Usage Data: Pages viewed, items saved, follows, votes, and interaction patterns used to improve the feed and recommendations.

Technical Data: Browser type, device information, IP address, and cookies used for authentication, security, and analytics.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable law (such as the EU/UK GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on the following:

• Performance of a contract — to create and operate your account, deliver the Service, and process subscriptions you purchase.
• Legitimate interests — to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, analyze usage in aggregate, moderate community content, and improve our products.
• Consent — for non-essential cookies, optional marketing communications, and any processing you have specifically opted in to. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. AI Processing

AppItYourWay uses AI models to summarize signals, classify lessons, detect duplicates, and verify supporting links. Content you submit may be sent to AI providers strictly for these purposes. We do not allow AI providers to train on your content. AI-generated contributions and summaries are clearly labeled.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") — our payment processor and Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle handles checkout, billing, subscription management, payment method storage, tax calculation and remittance, invoicing, refunds, and chargebacks. When you purchase a subscription, the billing and payment data you provide is collected and processed by Paddle as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. Paddle shares a limited record of your transaction (order ID, plan, status) with us so we can provision your subscription.
• Service providers (hosting, database, email, analytics, AI) under data protection agreements
• Web crawling and link-verification services used to vet supporting evidence
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where reasonably needed
• Law enforcement and authorities when required by law

8. Public Contributions

Build paths, signals, lessons, comments, and other contributions you publish are public by default, along with your public profile (display name, avatar, bio). You can edit or remove your contributions at any time from your dashboard.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. Deleted accounts have their personal data removed within 30 days. Aggregate, de-identified analytics may be retained indefinitely. Billing and transaction records held by Paddle are retained per Paddle's policy and applicable tax/accounting law.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging — to protect your personal data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to maintain industry-standard safeguards.

11. International Transfers

We and our service providers (including Paddle) may process your personal data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, transfers from the UK/EEA rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or applicable adequacy decisions.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. UK/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. We aim to respond to verified requests within one month. 13. Children's Privacy

AppItYourWay is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
